We like to hear children enjoying themselves!

The Swineshead Village Children's Drama Group was set up in February 2000 due to popular demand from the children of the local community.  Some of those children continue to enjoy being involved with the Family Drama Group that also runs in the village, but wanted a group devoted solely to themselves.

The Swineshead Village Children's Drama Group is run with one ethos firmly fixed in the minds of those volunteers that have agreed to work on this, and forthcoming projects:

"Children, their ideas and viewpoints are to be valued and encouraged".

The Founding Director, Nick Newitt, set up this non-profit making organisation solely for the benefit of the children who became members.  His experience of working with children both as a Playscheme Leader in Birmingham, UK and a teacher in both Birmingham, UK and Swineshead, Boston, UK meant that he was able to set up the scheme professionally.  There are a number of policy documents, set up with reference to Lincolnshire County Council models, which you may find interesting to read:

The first production of the Swineshead Village Children's Drama Group will be our inimitable version of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to be held in the Church Hall in June.  The actual dates are under review, and will be announced nearer the time of production.

We are keen to hear from any sponsors who wish to invest in our Community Drama Club.
